The Nu Mu chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. was chartered on May 8,1993 . Sought out by eight lovely ladies who dared to be different.

The Nu Mu chapter was the first chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. in the state of Connecticut . The women of Nu Mu received numerous awards for Academic Excellence and Community Service.

On March 3,2007 three lovely ladies were chosen to further ladies were chosen to further carry the light of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. on the University of Connecticut campus. Charged with the duty to maintain high academic excellence, and to provide a helping hand for those in need, the ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho Nu Mu Chapter serves as template that many often emulate but could never duplicate.
